Gateway counseling center was founded by Dr. John Hawkins Sr. and son to provide assistance to individuals suffering from a variety of psychological and relational issues, such as anxiety, depression, and marital distress.

MISSION

To counsel and teach life principles resulting in healing and empowerment for clients to create mental, spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational health.

Dr. John Hawkins Sr., D.D., M.S., L.M.H.C.

Dr. Hawkins has offered individual, couple, and family counseling for over 46 years as a pastoral counselor and therapist. He has worked extensively with marriage and family-related issues. Dr. Hawkins has been working with couples and families since the early seventies and has published numerous articles and works specifically addressing how to develop healthy and functional relationships.

In addition, Dr. Hawkins has assisted copious clients in resolving spiritual and life meaning uncertainties, as well as aided them in incorporating their spirituality as a resource for achieving their therapeutic and life’s goals. Dr. John Hawkins is a licensed mental health counselor. He has been married to his wife Charlotte for over 50 years and they have four grown children as well as 13 grandchildren.

Charlotte Hawkins

Charlotte has over 50 years of experience in working with individuals and couples in finding joy and realizing their purpose. With care and compassion, she helps people heal their past issues and chart a course from where they are to discover and live out God’s design for their life. She is a certified life coach, author, speaker, former pastor’s wife, mother of four, grandmother of 13 and married to her husband John for 55 years. Her clients love the gracious way she listens and relates to them. Charlotte’s passion shines in her commitment and dedication to serving her clients with integrity and love.

Holly Carranza

Holly is married and mother to two children. Holly is passionate about helping those who feel stuck and overwhelmed in their lives. Her goal is to help others gain tools and knowledge to move where they want to be in their health, work-life balance, relationships, stress management, motherhood struggles and more. Her story has taken her on a journey with health issues since the age of 16 and battling burnout mid-life leaving her feeling emotionally and mentally debilitated. She was fortunate to find help and work
through those struggles. Her heart is to help people in these same kinds of situations so that they can live their best and most fulfilled life.

Holly has her BM from Palm Beach Atlantic University, her CCLC for Life Coaching from Light University and her Nutrition Coach Certification through the International Board of Nutrition & Fitness Coaching (IBNFC), Holly is a member of the Venice Nutrition Coaches Network.

Rochelle Silver MS, LMHC

Rochelle is a Florida State licensed Mental Health Counselor and an EMDR therapist.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a double major in Education and later earning a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Rochelle completed her internship at Hanley Center of the Palm Beaches; specialized in chemical dependency and co occurring addictions. Over the past 17 years, Rochelle has provided individual, group and family counseling to a diverse range of clients in a variety of settings including: In-home, residential, out-patient and hospital settings. She has extensive experience in the psychiatric setting, specializing in Baker Act procedures. Her approach in working with clients draws from a wide range of therapeutic models to fit each individual and their needs. She leans on a Cognitive Behavioral approach, blended with Psychodynamic principles when working with adults. Rochelle is a firm believer in Personal growth and the Education process. She has a firm dedication to her clients and believes in unique individualized treatment to meets one’s personal needs.
